Anima Prototype
I decided to use Anima for my prototype which I connected to Sketch as a plugin. I didn't have any experience with this software but it was relatively easy to use. Linking the pages together was simple, and the plugin provided me with options to add animations and hover over effects. While prototyping, I did notice that I was only able to add anchor links to the same page that the link was on. This was a shame as I have many anchor links, linking to different pages.
However, once I had linked the pages and previewed the results in browser I noticed some odd occurrences with my prototype.
- Font sizes, weights and positioning appeared to be altered slightly
- Some elements were laid out differently to the mock-ups
- The plugin seemed unable to utilise the masks created in Sketch displaying the full image
I attempted to resolved the third problem as this is a known fault to occur with Anima, however work-arounds such as setting the image to be exported didn't seem to work.
Therefore, it may be best to switch to using Invision, in which you are able to upload images to make a prototype or connect with Sketch. This won't have the same effect as Anima where it appears to be converting styles and layout instead of using exported versions of each page.
