Existing IBS websites: Research
I have composed a list of websites that are specifically related to IBS. Each website provides the type of information that I would like to include on my website.
Healthline, WebMD, Bupa and the NHS websites all have a very structured appearance and provide similar information that varies in length. These webpages are purely informative and only provide the audience with copy. There usually is one piece of media but this is surrounded by an overwhelming amount of text. Although these websites have information on a variety of different medical conditions and are likely the reason why they are not personalised, these are examples of what I want to avoid doing when creating my website.
I came across Gut Love unexpectedly when searching for useable brand names. Gut Love was my first choice and when visiting the site discoveed that the creators cater to having a healthy gut instead of targetting one medical condition. They have produced their own diet to follow, which seems like a varient of the low FODMAP diet. This was an interesting website to scroll though in terms of content, because the creators have mostly created their own instead of sourcing forr medical books. The pupose of this site seems to prromote a holistic and non-invasive approach to having a healthy gut.

Researching competitors websites was a useful activity as it proves that among the sites I found, there are currently no websites close to the vision I have for my project.
